The York Time Institute was founded by Daniel Nied in order to address the shortage of qualified watch and clock makers in the United States. The Institute is housed in a 150 year old building in Historic Downtown York, PA. Historical research on the building revealed that two other watchmakers had been located there in the late 1800's. The Institute is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and offers a Diploma Program in Horological Conservation, Restoration, and Repair, as well as weekend and evening courses for the collector and hobbyist. Children's programs are also part of the diverse business of the York Time Institute. New for 2009 is our Community Lecture Series, offered free of charge as a community service.
